Today saw the team put theory into practice. In the morning they brushed up on their skills including monthly community first responder training, administering oxygen, the use of vacuum splints and stretchers, casualty handling, map reading and navigation, water safety and lots more.
In the afternoon they took part in simulated casualty exercises including a patient going into cardiac arrest and another suffering multiple injuries following a mountain bike accident which required him to be stretchered off after being stabilised.
A good refresher for the experienced team members who have been with us for a while, and an excellent introduction for some of the new team members.
The team made of entirely of volunteers. We have no paid members of staff and rely on donations to keep us going. If you would like to support the team you can donate here
