Public Access Defibs
In 2013 we initiated a program to place Public Access Defibrilators (PADs) across the Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park and surrounding areas. We are proud to now have 111 PADs in place!
In 2016 we launched our own Defib Locator App which pinpoints the location of all PAD units that we manage. The app can be downloaded at www.trossachsdefibrillator.co.uk
So far there have been 11 uses of PAD units with seven lifes saved! Integral to the success of this project is the free training we provide to the general public, community organisations and businesses in the area. For example, in 2016 we trained 1,163 people in CPR and use of a defibrillator.
Our members check and maintain each PAD unit once a month, thereby ensuring all units are operationally ready.
