Happy New Year!
January was a busy month for our members:
They delivered 8 Heartstart classes teaching 180 people CPR and other lifesaving skills. We visited Aberfoyle Primary School and trained all pupils in lifesaving skills inc the Recovery Position and CPR.
They responded to 37 callouts including medical emergencies for the Scottish Ambulance Service; supporting Clacks and Stirling Health and Social Care Partnership with MECS calls; responding to uses of public access defibrillators and assisting with flooding. Callouts were attended as far apart as Alexandria, Crianlarich, Alloa and Strathblane.
Additionally, search dogs Clova and Bowie have been ambassadors for a unique programme at the University of St Andrews where they visit regularly in the evening, which encourages students to stay engaged with others and have some relaxation time away from studies.
Then of course meetings with the emergency services, local authorities, our fantastic sponsors and community groups.
And our amazing search dogs meet on a weekly basis to train so they're at their very best when called to a real search.
